| 1 | pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips | |
| 2 | tablespoons olive oil | |
| 3 | cups broccoli florets | |
| 2 | large cloves garlic, minced | |
| ¼ | cup red wine | |
| ½ | cup beef stock or broth | |
| 1 | teaspoon tomato paste | |
| 3 | drops Worcestershire | |
| coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste |
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan. Add beef, cook until it browns on the bottom, and turn it over to cook on the other side. Transfer beef to a medium bowl and keep warm.
Add broccoli florets and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté 1 minute. Add wine, beef stock, tomato paste, and Worcestershire, stirring until well mixed. Return beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook 2 minutes more. Serve alone or with couscous, rice, or noodles.
