
Apples simmer in a sweet sauce flavored with the spicy goodness of cinnamon and freshly grated nutmeg. Perfect for rounding out a meal or as a light dessert.
| 4 | large Braeburn or Gala apples | |
| 2/3 | cup water | |
| ¼ | cup sugar | |
| ¼ | teaspoon cinnamon | |
| ¼ | teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg |
Peel, core and slice apples. In a medium saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar and spices. Place saucepan over medium-high heat, cover, and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and cook apples about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender. Serve warm.
